Across the Universe
Ok movie go-ers. If you like artsy, musical stuff, you might just like this one. We loved it. It's about a group of people and life in the 60's--in the form a musical featuring all Beatles songs. There are some weird moments for sure (think strung-out on drugs causing crazy hallucinations) and there is a brief Titanic moment (ask me if you don't know what I mean). The music is amazing though. And if you like the Beatles you'll love the soundtrack. Have you heard the I Am Sam soundtrack? It's as good as that. Some songs are even better. And the British guy (Jude in the movie--clever) has the coolest voice.
If you don't wanna see the flick, at least hop on over to iTunes and check out the music.

Transformers
So the movie of choice this past weekend (Justin's choice, that is) was Transformers. I won't go into the details, but it was action-packed, drama-filled, and emotionally gripping. Ok, not really. But it was action-packed, and all you guys will love it, especially if you loved it as a kid. I wouldn't take your kids to go see it though....that's a fair warning. I think it is meant for people who were kids when Transformers was popular, not kids today. Enough said.

Another Movie Review...Ratatouille!
I'm a sucker for Disney/Pixar movies, so I might be a little biased when I say that I loved this movie. It's very cute. So the rat (Remy) has an amazing sense of smell, and loves gourmet food. He reads a cookbook by a (dead) famous French chef, Gusteau, who becomes his ghost companion, leading him to his old restaurant in Paris. Here he befriends Linguine, the clumsy, goofy kid who somehow gets a job at the restaurant. Together, they become an amazing team, cooking up recipes that everyone seems to love. Of course there are your typical villians, as in every movie of this sort, and I just loved the villian in this one. Skinner is a goofy, short little man who took over when Gusteau died. He spends most of his time coming up with recipes for microwaveable foods. Little does he, or anyone else, know that Linguine is actually Gusteau's son, and he ends up taking over the restaurant. There are a few more tiny twists and turns that I won't go into, but overall it was a very good movie. I'd definitely recommend taking your kids to see it; it's a perfect family movie.

Movie Review--Ocean's 13
Did you see the first 2 movies in this series? I'm sure most of you have. The first was awesome, the second was good until Julia started playing herself. And I really enjoyed the third. George & Brad were charming as ever (as in the first 2) and the rest of the cast did a great job as well. The only disappointment I had was this: ya know how in the first 2 they show the guys doing Plan A and in the end they recap with what they really did, making it so much more impressive? Well in Ocean's 13 you pretty much knew exactly what was happening the whole time. Yeah it was cool, but the suspense just wasn't there like it was in the prior movies. Either way, it was still great, and I definitely recommend seeing it.
