The Time Traveler's Wife

Just finished reading this the other day, and loved it. Anyone else read it? Now I need a new book to read. This summer I've read HP6 and 7, The Memory Keeper's Daughter, and this. I need suggestions!!

The Kite Runner

Wow. This was a really great book. Very moving. There are some extremely heart-wrenching moments--things that you don't want to have to hear about, but things that happen in this world anyway. It deals with personal history, guilt, redemption from that guilt, and the sadness that the world brings. I highly recommend the Kite Runner....let me know if you want to borrow my copy.

Yes I'm Done Already....Eclipse!!

Ok, so I went to get the book at Borders at midnight...ok I'm a little pathetic but I don't care. It was a madhouse there, by the way. So many girls. Anyway, I started it at about 1:30 am, slept for a few hours, went to work, came home at four, and finished by ten. As with the first two, I just couldn't stop myself from reading and reading. I really liked this book, although there were some things that disappointed me a little. I won't give anything away to those who are waiting to read it, but I'll say this: the love triangle is much, much more intense in this book. And, Stephenie Meyer is getting a bit more...intense?...with Edward and Bella's relationship descriptions. But, I did fall in love with Edward even more. I'm sure you will too. Read it, it's great. And I will be happy to answer any questions you have..........but I'm sure you all will just read it yourselves to find out...

Twilight & New Moon

Ok, so I wasn't buying in to the hype about these books. But I decided to give Twilight a try anyway. I read the whole thing on Monday, and since I couldn't get enough of Edward Cullen, I went to Borders and picked up New Moon, and then read that whole book on Tuesday. I can't believe how much I loved these books. They were just so hard to put down. And now I absolutely cannot wait until the August 7th release of the next book in the series, Eclipse.

So, can anyone tell me what it is about the characters that makes you want to just keep reading and reading? I'm telling you--and I'm not embarassed by it at all--that I'm officially in love with that vampire! (Ok, a little embarassed--he's fictional). Anyway, I'm glad everyone else enjoyed them as much as I did. And I'm excited that there are other people to share my enthusiasm with when the next book comes out!

The Historian

I just finished reading this book last night. It's one of those that you can't seem to put down because crazy, exciting things keep happening at every turn. Basically it's about a historian who finds an ancient book with nothing in it but a picture of a dragon and the word "DRAKULYA". His daughter is the narrator and it goes through the events of this historian's life trying to figure out where Vlad the Impaler (aka Dracula) is buried, or if he is still "undead," and killing people to bring with him as his servants. It gets a bit gruesome, but it is actually very interesting, thrilling, romantic, and everything else. Plus, the narrator describes many places in Europe, particularly Eastern Europe, and it makes you want to go visit and see all the historical sights. It's a great read, and if you liked books like the DaVinci Code or Killer Angels, you will like this one.

By the way, now that I've read one book about vampires, I intend to read Twilight, which seems to be the hit book these days (among high school students to adults). I've heard it's very good, so I'll let you know how I like it.
