bryson + jaclyn's wedding

our friends bryson and jaclyn got married yesterday in the salt lake temple. yet another couple "olive garden couple" :) congratulations you two...it was beautiful and we couldn't be happier for you!

i love this photo of bryson with jaclyn's family. he's so tall with a bunch of shorties. i love the dodsons.

some of the old og crew came to town for the wedding...shannon (with kaity, her lovely sister), who is going law school in BOSTON in august. we will miss her tons.
and lee and sara (who are moving back to utah in the fall..yay!)
trent and alisa came too, but unfortunately i didn't get any photos of them.

our little lady was an angel pretty much all day. i think the only time she cried was when justin and i were inside at the sealing. other than that she was happy or sleeping. she's such a good baby.

justin, josh, and mike at the reception. i thought this picture was cute.

the two of us with the bride and groom. we love you gunters!

friends + fire = fun

went up the canyon last night for a bonfire with friends. lots of fun. it was the perfect night for it too. a little chilly, but not freezing. perfect temperature with a fire going. i love the view of utah valley from the mountains, and the spot where we were had the most incredible view.

we brought some wood, a little lighter fluid, and s'mores fixin's (plus starbursts to make giant skittles...you must try this) and settled in for a few hours of talking and laughing.

here's the gals: jaclyn, shanny, jules, jacquelyn

and justin with the pup.
loved it friends, lets do it again soon

Meeting Kate Marie

Spencer & Tara Frye, Kate, Brittney & Dan Dye, and us!

We got to meet my friend Brittney's new baby, Kate Marie, on Monday. Britt was in town with her family because her little brother will be going to BYU this fall, so we decided to get together for dinner. Of course, Justin had to work, so we just went to his Olive Garden so he could be there too. It was great to see you Tara, Spencer, Brittney & Daniel!

My Girls

"But friendship is precious, not only in the shade, but in the sunshine of life; and thanks to a benevolent arrangement of things, the greater part of life is sunshine."

-Thomas Jefferson

Tara & Brittney are my very best friends. We met in college and were basically inseparable the whole time. Britt lives in Las Vegas now with her husband so Tara & I don't get to see her much, but she was in town this week so we got to do our typical girls night at P.F. Chang's...a longstanding tradition that I hope will last forever!

The Great Wall of Chocolate...never leave Chang's without having eaten at least a bite!

So, Tara & I met freshman year in the dorms, and we met Brittney the following summer. We lived at Old Mill & King Henry together. We had a lot of fun times over the years! Brittney married Dan Dye in 2005 (and they are expecting Kate Marie in June!!); Justin & I got married April 2006; and Tara married Spencer Frye last August. It is so fun to get together with my girls and reminisce about old times and share stories about married life.

I LOVE YOU GIRLS!!!

Cinco de Mayo Celebration!

The Olive Garden gang got together on the 6th of May to celebrate Cinco de Mayo. I guess everyone had stuff going on on the 5th so it was easier to get everyone to come on the 6th. It was great fun...there were fajitas, guacamole, and pinatas! What more could you ask for? It's always fun to get together and play games and just hang out and talk. I love my friends!

The pinatas before the party started. I think the colorful one is supposed to be a bull...?

The loot...

I can't believe I'm blogging about this...but WE WENT 80's DANCING

So our friends Shannon, Bryson, and Jaclyn had the idea to go 80's dancing last week, and they got us to join in this week. It was fun. I haven't been dancing in a long time, and I have to admit it was a little weird going as a married couple (it's a little uncharacteristic of us...). But it was still fun. The best part was getting all glammed up 80's style. We went to Savers & DI and got some nasty looking 80's clothes. I did all the girls' makeup. Bright blue, do you like it?

Justin got some awesome acid-washed jeans and a purplish sleeveless t-shirt. He looked PRETTY good...

So, we're pretty dorky, but hey at least we have fun right? Here are a few more of all of us:

BLT's and Guitar Hero

Traditionally, the Olive Garden crew gets together to eat (usually BLT's), play Guitar Hero/other fun games, and watch the Office on occasional Thursday evenings. Since everyone miraculously had the night off last night, we decided to get together and continue the tradition, minus the Office (since it was Tuesday and there hasn't been a new episode in a month. One whole month..). So, Jacqs & Josh Petersen, Shannon, Jaclyn & Bryson, Justin and I (and later Lee & Sara) all went over to Shannon's and had a little party! It was fun.

If you've never played Guitar Hero, I would highly recommend coming over and playing. It's one of the only video games that guys and girls can love (maybe the only one a girl can love...oh wait no...there's tetris, mario kart, and a couple other old school ones too). We love that game and we hear that an 80's version is going to be coming out soon....if anyone knows about it please tell me!!
